Malbec: A Love Story
In 1912, Primo Meschini left San Severino, Italy in search of a better life. He had heard of the unmatched beauty of the Andes mountains, coming with his aunt and uncle, he joined the wave of Italians emigrating to Argentina. This is where the love story begins.
Primo fell in love with malbec at first sip. He knew right away that wine would someday become his family’s legacy, and he worked tirelessly to rise up from a simple mechanic to owning several car dealerships. This is when he began winemaking as a hobby. It was a way to reconnect with his native Italy, but also to pay homage to the magic and beauty of malbec.
Soon, Meschini Dolcetto winery was born. As the winery grew, so did Primo’s son, Pacifico, and together they strove to make elegant, beautiful wines that could be enjoyed with the whole Famiglia.
Our family’s love for wine has not diminished. In fact, it is even more near and dear to our hearts today as we pay homage to Primo’s passion and hard work by creating wines that would make him and Pacifico proud. Famiglia Meschini ties our family together with our shared passion: Though Eugenio live 5,000 miles away in Minnesota, they are able to stay connected with brothers Primo and Giovanni through the business, coming together for family dinners in the vineyard, enjoying the grape that is now loved by the entire famiglia.
