Summer is Torrontés Time

Once believed to originate from Spain, Torrontés is proven to be indigenous to Argentina and truly a grape of the people. Though enjoyed by the locals for hundreds of years, this tasty grape wasn’t exported to the U.S. until recently.

Compared by Eugenio Meschini to the fragrance Givenchy, Torrontés has many similar aromatics. Poking your nose in the glass will uncover a floral bomb of white jasmine and orange blossoms, not to mention white peaches and apricots. Not just for sniffing, this fabulous varietal delivers bright zingy texture and a crisp finish. Though a satisfying after-work drink, Torrontés also offers a great pairing to spicy foods like Indian curries, sushi and Thai dishes. We love it with takeout pad thai from our favorite Thai restaurant Naviyas.

Leave your worries behind: A glass of Torrontés will end your work day on a high note. Take the advice of the back of the Famiglia Meschini sparkling torrontés bottle and serve it at the beginning of of your next shindig to “get this party started.” While most Torrontés wines are still and dry, our bottling is easy sipping and effervescent, highlighting its fun floral characteristics.
